chief_small.pngA Message from LFD Chief Dan Woodson

Welcome to the Lebanon Fire District's Web Page.  I hope that you find our site useful and informative.

The Lebanon Fire District consists of 29 paid employees and 45 volunteers.  Our emergency crews operate out of five stations and are multi-role, providing fire service to 156 square miles and ambulance service to 450 square miles of the Willamette Valley.

The Lebanon Fire District has had substantial growth in the last few years and there are still major projects on the drawing board for development.  The district is also home to a large senior population and major transportation routes, including two major highways and a rail line.  It is the major shopping center for East Linn County.  The addition of the Lowe's Regional Distribution Center was an economic boost for our area.

In addition to challenges we face in our own District, the Lebanon Fire District participates in the regional Hazardous Materials Response Team through the State Fire Marshal's Office.  This team serves Benton, Linn, Lincoln, Marion, and Polk Counties with spill and hazard control services.  We participate in fire investigations with a team from Linn and Benton counties.

Our approach to the challenges we face is defined in our mission, "Dedicated to Serving and Protecting You."  Each member of the Lebanon Fire District is committed to a proactive approach and putting forth their best efforts to prevent and protect our citizens and their property from harm.  We also enlist the help of the public in this pursuit by becoming active in fire and life safety.  We realize, as our mission states, that we are here to provide our services, for you, our customers.

Enjoy your travels through our website.  We welcome your comments and feedback on how to improve this site as well as the services we provide.

Thank you for visiting us,

Dan Woodson, Fire Chief

Lebanon Rural Fire Protection District, also known as Lebanon Fire District, was formed in 1884.  In the 1970's, LFD began operating a basic life support ambulance service.  Today we provide advanced life support paramedic ambulances, fire suppression and fire prevention services.

Lebanon Fire District covers 156 square miles and includes the incorporated and unincorporated areas of Lebanon, Waterloo, Sodaville, and Lacomb.  Our medical emergency response area covers approximately 450 square miles and includes, in addition to our fire district, the incorporated cities and surrounding areas of Brownsville, Crabtree, and Scio.  There are an estimated 10,500 single family residential structures and 750 businesses within the area we serve and protect.  The population is estimated at 45,000 people.

To provide emergency fire and medical service to our response area, the District employs twenty-nine(29) emergency services personnel, who are all trained firefighters and also certified as emergency medical technicians and paramedics.  The district also employs four and one half (4.5) staff personnel who work in financial, clerical, and vehicle maintenance roles.  In addition to our career personnel the District has forty-two(42) volunteers operating out of our main station in Lebanon and the two substations located in Lacomb and Fairview.

The District anticipates opening two additional stations by August 2008.  Construction on a 9400 sq. ft. building started in October of 2007.  This station will staff two full-time personnel 24/7.  Resident volunteers and community volunteers will also be assigned to this station to be located on Weirich Drive.

The other station will be staffed by volunteers, be 2500 sq. ft., and is located at Berlin Rd. and Powell Lane.

With the addition of these two stations, the District will utilize 8 engines, 3 water tenders, 1 aerial apparatus, 6 brush units, 1 heavy rescue, 4 ALS medic units, and 4 staff vehicles.   We currently respond to approximately 4000 calls for service annually.

It is because of the investment that the taxpayers of Lebanon Fire District have made in the facilities, equipment, and personnel that make our service possible.  It is our honor to "Serve and Protect You!"
